St. Louis, Missouri - November 5, 2003
Crane National Vendors exhibited a variety of new products at the Washington DC NAMA which convened October 16-19, at the Nations Capital's new Convention Center. A new model of our industry leading SHOPPERTRON Food Merchandiser was bowed with an updated name SHOPPER II and including a lengthy list of new features. The new unit has a more open merchandising design which enables taller products to be vended e.g. 12oz cans which now can be standing and combined with other food items for packaged selling. Additional shelf space has enabled 9" platter capability. Pricing flexibility now provides unique pricing for each unit displayed. Also a 23% increase to vendable space allows you to capitalize on the ever present trend to "upsize". Offer large salads, entrees and even meal package combo's. All of this and more with a space footprint that is even smaller than the current SHOPPERTRON.
The all new REFRESHMENT CENTER 1 was also a feature unit at the show. This new basic snack model will have the capability of four refrigerated machine configurations which will satisfy food, dual zone, chilled, snack/bottle and food/bottle combinations. The temperature adjustments range from (36° to 74°F) for all snacks, food and beverages. The food configurtiion will come standard with the NAMA Health Safety control which is required with all units offering food and milk items.
The third offering was a new open front bottle/can/juice Merchandiser which allows the consumer to select from a wide variety of soft drink sizes and flavors as well as juice and milk items. The unit has 40 selections with a total of five trays and has first-in,first-out capability. The product is delivered by a unique elevator system which picks up the product selected and delivers it to a easy to reach dispenser.
All of the featured units received favorable customer comments and our booth area was very congested for two of the three show days. The 03 NAMA is now positioned among the many historic venues in the Nations Capital. Attndance for CNV was very good, however, the total convention was down 500 from the Atlanta Expo in 02.
